The New SBB Intranet – The Digital Workplace of the Future

MatchPoint partner Unic took the implementation lead for the new SBB intranet based on SharePoint and MatchPoint, becoming the central information hub for all employees. The focus was put on the requirements of the end users – the result is a personalized and individual experience.

The global communication and collaboration hub

A detailed analysis of the user requirements was the foundation for the functional concept of the new platform. Unic used MatchPoint to implement the required interaction capabilities, which enabled them to build on an information architecture with clearly defined access points and to deliver a personalized experience with relevant content for all audiences. An agile project approach allowed SBB to include new and refined requirements during the development. The resulting platform not only corresponds to the end user requirements, but also supports content authors and administrators in their daily tasks – it enables them to create and manage content in a more efficient and intuitive way.

Unic has supported SBB to make the new intranet a central communication and collaboration hub throughout the organization. Right from the start, Unic and SBB have strived for a personalized solution, supporting employees to find information faster and easier. The MatchPoint Framework provides functionality to enable highly precise search results as well as filters to reduce the ambient noise usually seen in large information management platforms. Moreover, the new intranet integrates collaboration tools, web applications and self-service offerings. Further applications are linked to the platform, making it the global hub for all information, tools and contacts.
